This new style air intake boot is between the Air Filter and CCV intake port that lines up squarely with the air filter.
It is commonly used to upgrade the early 99 intake tube when doing the DIY 6637 air intake modification where a short straight piece of 4″ exhaust fits squarely into the tube and filter. This eliminates the need for the early 99 owners to fabricate a 4″ piece with a 45 degree bend.
